September marks the end of summer for most of us, but here’s some things to remember whether you’re starting classes or just celebrating a brand new month!

• Eat something

Am I the only one who forgets to eat when I get caught up in work or just being lazy? Eating is so important and it’s too late once you realize you’re hangry, so don’t forget to feed yourself!

Your new calendar for August!

I was initially  making a “summer” theme for this month’s calendar, but everything I came up felt “meh” so I looked into important dates in August. Turns out, August 26th, is Women’s Equality Day. On this day in 1920, the 19th Amendment was passed, the right for women to vote. When people think about these things they think, “that was a long time ago,” but in reality it was only 99 years ago. We all know as human beings who can’t seem to shake bad habits year after year, not a lot can change in our lifetimes. Think of your elders or grandparents who are still with us today. We still have a ways to go in the US in regards to our voting laws, voter suppression, electoral college…just to name a few. But if history has taught us anything, it’s that speaking out, protesting, and activism WORKS. Please go out and vote in 2020!
